John Cameron, currently stationed in south-west Madagascar on a 10-week environmental research expedition, has been busy documenting his experiences both in a journal and through the lens of his two digital cameras.

Yukima Payne and Virgil Cameron spoke to John recently, while he was spending two days in the southern city of Toliara on leave from the confines of the remote research camp that forms John's home for the 10 week research assignment.

While in Toliara, John had the opportunity to send some photos, via email, to Virgil's Diary.
