The December 7 wedding of Daniella Ballou and Martin Aares, in New York City, USA, was attended by Virgil Cameron and his trusty camera.

Daniella, 28, is the half-sister of David Cameron, and has lived in New York City during her childhood. Recently she has spent several years working in various different parts of the world. Martin, 30, grew up in Norway and has worked and studied extensively in the USA and the UK.

The couple have now recently returned from their honeymoon in Vietnam, and are settling into New York City for the first time since living together in London for the past several years.

The wedding was held in the beautiful setting of the Space, a photo studio situated several floors above the Chelsea Markets in the middle of Manhattan Island.

This idyllic setting was filled with 80 guests, ranging from the close families of the bride and groom, to international relatives (namely Virgil Cameron), close friends and colleagues.

While the sun set on a beautiful New York evening the Great Hall of The Space was transformed into a fairytale setting, decked out with flower garlands, fairy-lights, red serviettes, and green-leaf coated pillars.

As the guests were arriving, and the tables were being set with their finishing touches (little glass stars and spiral ornaments), ...

... Daniella was receiving the finishing touches to her beautiful wedding attire.

Meanwhile, Martin was at the Christopher St apartment frantically searching for his cheque books which had been misplaced in a moment of well-meaning pre-wedding house cleaning undertaken by some of the key Bridal Officers, who prettied-up the apartment with flowers and champagne aimed at facilitating a most special night of newlywed happiness.

The photo below depicts Daniella -- receiving a last-minute makeover -- calmly negotiating with Martin about the crucial necessity for him to show up at the wedding ceremony -before- the ceremony actually takes place, rather than looking for his cheque books.

(Thankfully, the cheque books were subsequently discovered in a stroke of good luck by Virgil, who found them hidden, sandwiched within the voluminous pages of the Manhattan Yellow Pages).

Despite such minor incidents the wedding ceremony was completed with little mishap, and was followed by hour after hour of mouth watering cosmopolitan delicacies, served in several generous courses, to a truly multicultural group of eager friends and family.

Accompanied by toast after toast of the special-vintage Goats Do Roam red wine...

... In true Norwegian tradition this celebration of food, drink and newlyweds was interspersed with numerous happy, humorous and heartfelt speeches celebrating the life and times of the couple.

Family Speeches

Under the eyes of many eager photographers, all combinations and permutations of friends and family were lined up to be photographed beside the newly married couple.

Indeed, the photo shoot turned into a competitive act of bravado, as the groom and his loyal henchmen vied for their hold of the happy bride.

But all else was forgotten at the sight of the splendid Wedding Cake, which was cut with great ceremony by the bride and groom.

And all that remained to be done, was to while away the happy evening dancing on The Space's snow-white dance floor...
